Ryder Scott Participates in U.S.–Libya Strategic Dialogue on Oil & Gas

Ryder Scott was pleased to participate in the U.S.–Libya Strategic Dialogue on Oil & Gas, hosted by the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce in Houston. Representing our firm, Deji Adeyeye, P.E., Senior Vice President, joined government and industry leaders for an engaging discussion led by H.E. Dr. Khalifa R. Abdulsadek, Ministry of Oil & Gas (Libya).

Dr. Abdulsadek outlined his roadmap to increase Libya’s daily oil production from 1.4 million to 2.0 million barrels, using a “highway speed limit” analogy to emphasize the importance of accelerating growth while maintaining safety, sustainability, and control.

In one-on-one discussions, Dr. Abdulsadek also shared his vision to strengthen Libya’s technical expertise in unconventional resource development—an area where Ryder Scott’s global experience in reserves certification, reservoir studies, and resource management can offer valuable support.

Ryder Scott proudly participated in the CCUS LATAM 2025 Conference in Cartagena, Colombia, contributing expert insights on Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) in Latin America.

Ryder Scott was honored to serve as an Associate Sponsor of the 2025 SPE Petroleum Economics Symposium, held in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The event brought together global energy leaders, technical experts, and emerging professionals for high-level discussions on the future of energy economics and the evolving global landscape.

Ryder Scott’s presence was felt across multiple sessions. Herman Acuna, President of Ryder Scott, joined a key executive panel on Reserves Estimation in a Dynamic Economic Environment, sharing expert insight on best practices and the PRMS framework. By combining strengths, this partnership brings together over 20 years of Ryder Scott’s technical expertise in Mexico—including reserves certification, reservoir simulation, field development, and other key studies—with Lumina’s leading-edge geophysical capabilities. These include seismic processing, 3D modeling, reservoir characterization, and proprietary quantitative interpretation technologies.

As a result, our collaboration is uniquely positioned to provide deeper insight into exploration and production across all producing basins in Mexico.

SPE-PRMS Guidelines Now Available in Spanish!

Exciting News for the Global Energy Community!

The Society of Petroleum Engineers International (SPE) has officially released the Spanish translation of the SPE-PRMS Application Guidelines.

Moreover, this important milestone enhances the accessibility and global adoption of the Petroleum Resources Management System (PRMS) framework—especially for Spanish-speaking professionals in the oil and gas industry.

In addition, we extend our sincere thanks to the SPE Oil and Gas Reserves Committee (OGRC) for their dedication and hard work in making this translation possible.

As a result, the Spanish version of the Application Guidelines is now available on OnePetro!

Therefore, this release is a major step toward supporting a more inclusive and informed energy sector worldwide.

New Executive Committee Announced

Ryder Scott Company, L.P., a leading independent global oil and gas consulting firm, is excited to announce two key leadership promotions effective April 1, 2023. Firstly, Guadalupe (Guale) Ramirez has been promoted to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Guale has been with Ryder Scott since 1981 and brings over 47 years of industry experience. His career began as a petroleum engineer, and over the years, he has played a significant role in evaluating major oil and gas basins worldwide, greatly contributing to the firm’s international expansion.

Meanwhile, Herman Acuña has been promoted to President. Herman joined Ryder Scott in 1997 and possesses over 35 years of experience. He has been instrumental in leading management consulting services and overseeing the Sustainable Energy Division.

Furthermore, Ryder Scott expresses gratitude to Dean Rietz for his dedicated service as Chairman and CEO from 2019 to 2023. Founded in 1937, the company continues to provide expert guidance from its headquarters in Houston, with branches in Denver and Calgary.
